I used to keep this sign on my wall in my teaching studio. When a student did something or said something particularly outrageous I would point to it and say, "If you don't cut it out I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave." It made them think twice before just saying whatever. It's always good to argue with yourself about what you're thinking of saying before you argue with someone else--better to lose to yourself in private than lose to others in public.
